Submit a Proposal
ACTC-DS is committed to collaborating with investigators to refine and develop innovative ideas for clinical trials focused on Alzheimer’s disease in individuals with Down syndrome.
We seek proposals for novel therapeutic and non-pharmacological interventions that address the unique biology, clinical presentation, and care needs of the Down syndrome population.
ACTC-DS provides infrastructure, expertise, and a global network of sites to accelerate the development of effective treatments specifically for individuals with DS, who are at high risk for Alzheimer’s disease.
Seeking Ideas for Therapeutic Trials:
ACTC-DS welcomes proposals for Phase Ib through Phase III clinical trials, as well as pilot and feasibility studies that may lead to larger-scale investigations. Proposals may include novel trial designs and approaches that are specifically adapted to the needs of individuals with Down syndrome. Multisite and international collaborations are encouraged, particularly those that enhance feasibility, broaden access, and strengthen scientific impact.
Why Submit to ACTC-DS
ACTC-DS provides investigators with access to a well-established clinical trials network, experienced research sites, and multidisciplinary expertise in Down syndrome and Alzheimer’s disease. Investigators who submit proposals will have the opportunity to receive feedback and guidance to refine study design, improve feasibility, and strengthen competitiveness for external funding. The consortium supports recruitment and retention strategies tailored to the Down syndrome population and helps ensure that studies are designed with appropriate ethical and accessibility considerations.
Submission Process
Step 1:
Investigators are asked to prepare a Clinical Study Concept Proposal along with a Protocol Synopsis using ACTC templates. These materials should outline the scientific rationale, study design, and relevance to Alzheimer’s disease in Down syndrome.
Step 2:
Completed proposals should be submitted to the ACTC-DS Program Administrator for review.
Just have an idea, not a full proposal? Get in touch!
