275 Participants Enrolled in TRC-DS

October 7, 2021 by

The Trial-Ready Cohort – Down syndrome has enrolled 275 participants. The Trial-Ready Cohort-Down Syndrome, or TRC-DS, matches people with Down syndrome to clinical trials related to Alzheimer’s disease. TRC-DS routinely monitors study participants for any changes to their brain health or function over time through blood tests and brain imaging to eventually match them with applicable Alzheimer’s disease clinical trials. Because participants are routinely evaluated, researchers can fast-track them for enrollment into qualifying clinical studies as soon as they are eligible and matched with one.

ACTC Down Syndrome Network Funded

October 11, 2019 by

Mike Rafii’s proposal to develop a clinical trials network for conducting AD clinical trials in the Down syndrome population has been funded. The Alzheimer’s Clinical Trial Consortium for Down Syndrome (ACTC-DS) will leverage the experience and expertise of the ACTC, as well as the NIH-funded Alzheimer’s Biomarker Consortium for Down Syndrome (ABC-DS) groups to build a trial-ready cohort of adults with DS and then design and conduct a clinical trial in this cohort. ACTC-DS will serve as a platform for bringing the latest and most innovative AD therapies to the DS population.
